We recycle where possible, for instance our own chickens get kitchen scraps, and we separate glass, garden waste and plastic. During the renovation of both the villa and the coach house, we optimally insulated and had all the pipework installed to the latest standards. Naturally, with double glazing all round.
The Good Roll: For both our toilet paper and our cleaning paper, we work with the products from GoodRoll.
100% eco-friendly and sustainable toilet paper.
The Good Roll donates 50% of its net profits to the construction of toilets in Ghana and is made from 100% European bamboo and recycled paper, free from chlorine, colourants and fragrances.
We also work closely with EcoTap, Come on, be honest: aren't plastic mineral water bottles a thing of the past? And transporting water that you can also tap locally, isn't that just a waste? Unnecessary transport, CO2-emissions during production, and (waste) litter harms the environment.
The EcoTapwater taps work through a unique 3-stage filtration system, which turns tap water into table water of mineral water quality. After filtering, the water is cooled via a special ‘cooler carbonator’ and transformed into deliciously refreshing still or sparkling table water that tastes at least as good as bottled mineral water.
In the Netherlands, tap water is of excellent quality. But in many countries, it's very different. There, you'd get sick if you drank water from the tap.
Both EcoTapwater and Villa Heidetuin believe that everyone in the world has the right to clean drinking water.
This is why we work together with the Verkaart Development Team (VDT project). They look after orphan girls and albino children in Kenya, providing them with food and drink, clothing, education, and protection.
Since 2016, we have been donating many litres of clean drinking water to the VDT project. For every subscription, 36,000 litres of water are sent to Kenya.
