‘Huize Lievensberg’, built in 1846 by Johannes de Ram, is an atmospheric estate with a rich history. The clients were the Belgian de Ram family, who lived in the house until the early 1920s. Subsequently, the Brothers of the Immaculate Conception found accommodation there, followed by a period as a youth crisis shelter. During the construction of our luxurious B&B, we lovingly and carefully preserved or meticulously renovated the authentic elements. Thus, we offer our guests not only modern comfort but also a nostalgic journey back in time.
The country house is surrounded by a park with a pond and groups of trees, dating from 1870 – 1920. Several old avenues crisscross the estate, including an 800-metre long sightline avenue oriented towards the country house. Villa Heidetuin is still surrounded by a magnificent park-like garden with beech avenues, picnic areas, a heather garden with over 30 different types of heather, and a pond.

Landgoed Lievensberg is a favourite with walkers, cyclists and families seeking adventure. Children will find their play paradise here, while parents can enjoy a quiet Summer picnic or a sporting activity.
From the Villa, you can walk through the woods undisturbed and discover all sorts of special places. Choose a route that takes you past the green versatility of the Brabantse Wal and Landgoed Lievensberg. After a refreshing walk, you can relax on our terrace with a cup of coffee and cake, a delicious lunch, or a glass of wine.

On the border of Brabant and Zeeland lies the Brabantse Wal, one of the three "Landschappen van Allure" (Landscapes of Allure) in North Brabant. An area where natural beauty, monuments, and cultural events are intertwined.
Unique landscape
The Brabantse Wal is a sandy plateau located in the far west of the province of North Brabant, stretching from the Belgian border in the south to Steenbergen in the north and up to the Wouwse Plantage in the east. The area stands out for its great variety of landscapes. The rolling terrain of the Brabantse Wal rises up to 20 metres above sea level near Woensdrecht, offering fine views. After climbing, the landscape suddenly changes again into the vast polders around Steenbergen, the waters of the Zeeland delta, and the forests of the Wouwse Plantage.
Town and region
In the middle of the area lies the Marquis's town Bergen op Zoom. The more than 800 monuments in this city tell the story of a rich and eventful past. The jewel in the crown of Bergen op Zoom is Het Markiezenhof, the former residential palace of the Lords and Marquises of Bergen op Zoom. Embarking on an adventure through this expansive palace with its many halls, rooms, galleries, spiral staircases, courtyards, and gardens gives you a good insight into the history of the city and the region. The funfair museum and the museum for international political cartoons are also housed in Het Markiezenhof.
The many cultural events and the wide range of shopping and dining options make a visit to this city more than worthwhile. Bergen op Zoom is the right place for fun shopping, experiencing culture, and culinary enjoyment. Information about all the events in the city can be found at Bergen op Zoom.nu
The expansive forests surrounding Woensdrecht are a true eldorado for cyclists and hikers. The cycle and walking junction systems guarantee many kilometres of cycling and walking enjoyment. A combination with one of the culinary packages will make the day complete!
Water recreationists are also well catered for. Steenbergen boasts well-equipped marinas, which are easily accessible from Zeeland and Zuid-Holland. The access from the Volkerak to the Steenbergse Vliet via the idyllic-looking Benedensas lock complex is unique. The connection to the waterway network offers water recreationists fantastic opportunities to explore Brabantse Wal from the water.
Fancy a taste of culture, some retail therapy, culinary delights or getting active? Then the Brabantse Wal is the region for you. There are also plenty of opportunities for children on the Brabantse Wal. Experience it for yourself!
